South Carolina vs. Michigan, Take Under
Both of these teams have played some great defense as of late, and we look for more of the same tonight especially considering both offenses may come out a bit jittery at first. Michigan completely stifled Old Dominion 66-43 in the semifinals as the Monarchs hit on a miserable 15 out of 53 field goal attempts! Yes some of that had to do with lousy shooting, but the Michigan defense did an excellent job of forcing ODU into contested shots. The Wolverines are now allowing 63.6 points per game over the last five games, and if we toss an overtime game vs. Notre Dame where they allowed 84 points, the Boys in Maze surrendered just 58.5 points per in the other four contests! The South Carolina defense has been even better statistically over the last five games, permitting just 59.4 points per encounter. Furthermore that too included an overtime game where the Gamecocks still allowed just 68 points at Florida State. The Cocks have been the more consistent of these teams defensively allowing 62.6 points per contest for the whole year, with the UNDER going 20-15 in all games that had a posted total. We look for both teams to make enough stops here for this game to top out at 120 points or so.
